6 Best MaxRewards Alternatives in 2026 (Including Ones That Skip the Bank Login)
MaxRewards auto-activates offers but its credit tracking is limited, and auto-activation needs your bank credentials. Six alternatives compared on credit detection, privacy, and price.
We make OfferBee, which appears below. We've been specific about where MaxRewards and the others beat us. Checked against each app's live site on 2026-09-08.

| CardStack | Credits + effective annual fee on iOS | $12.99/mo · $89.99/yr | Optional |
| Pointer AI | Free, zero financial connection | Free; $4.99/mo | No |
| WalletFlo | Sign-up bonuses | Free (1 card); $230/yr | Yes (Plaid) |

Why people leave MaxRewards
The bank login. MaxRewards' headline feature, automatically activating Amex Offers, Chase Offers and Discover Deals, requires account access. Some people are simply not willing, and no amount of encryption talk changes that. It's a reasonable position: the credential is the whole account.
Connection friction. Any product built on issuer account access inherits issuer behaviour: 2FA prompts, re-auth loops, a bank that changes its login flow and breaks the integration for a week. Competitors in this category advertise "no re-syncing, no 2FA loops" specifically because it's a live complaint.
Discovering that offers and credits are different problems. MaxRewards optimises offers: the rotating "spend $50 at X, get $10 back" tiles inside your issuer's app. It does not, as of September 2026, automatically detect that your $200 airline fee credit was used, and it doesn't compute whether a card's credits cover its annual fee. Someone paying $895 for a Platinum is usually leaking money on the second problem, not the first.
What MaxRewards is genuinely good at
- Auto-activation actually works. Amex, Chase and Discover offers added in the background. Manual activation is a chore nobody keeps up with, and this removes it.
- Discover Deals coverage is not common in this category.
- iOS and Android both. Half this category is iPhone-only. MaxRewards isn't.
- Editorial transparency. Their card rankings state that compensation never reorders the list and publish the criteria. That's better than most of the affiliate content in this space.
If offers are your leak, MaxRewards is doing the job. Read the rest only if they aren't.
The alternatives
1. OfferBee: for the credits, not the offers
What it does best. Reads your card transactions through Plaid and marks a statement credit used when the qualifying charge posts. Reminds you before a credit resets. At each renewal, gives a fee-vs-value verdict built from what you actually captured, the number that decides whether to keep a $895 card.
Platforms. iOS and Android.
Bank connection. Plaid, and optional. Cards can be added and credits tracked by hand with nothing connected. Plaid is read-only transaction access, not issuer login credentials, a meaningfully different thing from what MaxRewards needs for activation.
Price. $9.99/mo or $80/yr, 14-day trial with no card required. Manual credit tracking on cards already in your wallet stays free after the trial ends. Those are the offerbee.ai prices; subscribing through the App Store instead is $12.99/mo or $104.99/yr. The app shows both side by side and marks the cheaper one.
Best for. Two-to-six premium cards, monthly and quarterly credits you keep forgetting, and a preference for read-only transaction access over full account access.
Limitations. We don't bulk-activate issuer offers at all; that is MaxRewards' core feature and we simply don't have it. If offers are your problem, we're the wrong tool. No Discover Deals. Younger app, less polish. And OfferBee's automation needs the Plaid connection; if your objection to MaxRewards was "no financial connections, period," skip to Pointer AI or CardPointers.
2. CardPointers: offers without the credentials
What it does best. This is the direct answer to the bank-login objection. CardPointers adds offers across Amex, Chase, Bank of America, Citi, Wells Fargo and US Bank, six issuers, two more than MaxRewards, and its homepage states it does so "without sharing your logins or any purchase history." AutoPilot puts the best card for your current location on the lock screen.
Price. CardPointers+ is $90/yr, with a free trial. The free tier is limited to one card of each type.
Best for. Someone who wants exactly what MaxRewards does and refuses the credential trade.
Limitations. No transaction data means no automatic credit detection, the same gap MaxRewards has. $90/yr is more than double MaxRewards Gold's reported price.
3. CardStack: credits and offers in one iOS app
What it does best. Automatic credit detection from statement transactions plus an effective-annual-fee calculation, with Amex and Chase offer activation through Safari and Chrome extensions. It covers both problems if you're on an iPhone.
Price. Free tier includes adding cards and manual credit tracking. CardStack+ is $12.99/mo or $89.99/yr after a 7-day trial.
Best for. iPhone users who want to replace MaxRewards with something that also tracks credits.
Limitations. No Android, per their own comparison table, so for half of MaxRewards' users this is not an option. No Discover coverage. 100+ card catalog.
4. Pointer AI: the no-connection option, free
What it does best. Best-card recommendations by store with no financial connection of any kind; you add cards by name. Its free tier includes unlimited cards and a full perks tracker, which is more than most paid tiers here.
Price. Free; Premium $4.99/mo, the same price as MaxRewards Gold.
Best for. Someone whose objection is privacy and whose budget is zero.
Limitations. iOS only (Android is a waitlist). No transaction data, so no automatic credit detection and no offer activation. It answers "which card," not "did I use it."
5. WalletFlo: bonuses and fee decisions
What it does best. Sign-up bonus deadlines and progress, plus annual-fee keep-or-cancel prompts with retention scripts.
Price. Free tier is one linked card. Pro is $100 the first year and $230/yr after, by far the most expensive option here, roughly 5.75× MaxRewards Gold's reported annual price. There's also a free year if you apply for an eligible card in-app and are approved, which means the app is compensated for the referral.
Best for. Active churners where one missed bonus outweighs everything else.
Limitations. Price, iOS only, one-card free tier.
6. Uthrive: the other Android offer-activator
What it does best. Auto-activates savings offers on Premium, suggests the best card, and lets you weight recommendations toward a preferred program (Delta, Marriott, straight cashback).
Platforms. iOS and Android; one of the few direct Android alternatives for offer activation.
Price. Premium exists but the price isn't published on their homepage as of 2026-09-08, so check in-app.
Limitations. Unpublished pricing is itself a signal to check carefully. Not built around statement-credit tracking.

How to choose
- If auto-activation is why you installed MaxRewards, don't replace it; nothing here matches it. CardPointers covers more issuers without credentials; Uthrive covers Android. Neither is strictly better.
- If the bank login is the dealbreaker, it's CardPointers or Pointer AI. Pointer AI is free and cheaper at Premium; CardPointers has more issuers and AutoPilot. Both give up credit detection to get there.
- If you've realised credits are the actual leak, you need transaction access, there is no way around it. OfferBee (iOS + Android) or CardStack (iOS). Note the distinction that matters here: read-only transaction access via Plaid is a narrower grant than the full account access offer-activation requires.
- If you're on Android and want credit tracking, the list is short. CardStack and WalletFlo are out. OfferBee is the direct answer.
Prices in the tables above are each app's cheapest available annual price. For OfferBee that is the offerbee.ai rail ($80/yr); the App Store rail is $104.99/yr and the app presents both.
