Free Apps to Track Credit Card Perks and Credits (2026): What You Actually Get
Six apps with genuinely free tiers, and exactly where each one stops. Plus the honest answer on whether a spreadsheet is enough.
We make OfferBee, which is in the "free floor, not a free tier" section below. We've been precise about what that means because the distinction matters here. Verified against live sites on 2026-09-08.
"Free" means at least four different things in this category, and the difference decides whether the app is useful to you:
- Genuinely free, complete for its job: Travel Freely, AwardWallet's free tier.
- Free tier with real capacity, automation paywalled: Pointer AI, CardStack, MaxRewards, Kudos.
- Free tier capped at one card: CardPointers (one of each type), WalletFlo (one linked card). For anyone with a real wallet, a demo.
- Free floor after a trial: OfferBee. Not a free entry plan; a guarantee that you don't lose your ledger when you stop paying.
Here's what each actually gives you.

The genuinely free ones
Pointer AI: the most generous free tier in the category
Unlimited cards, a full perks and benefits tracker with activation flags, and weekly store searches, free, with no bank connection of any kind. You add cards by name. Its own FAQ points out that this free tier is comparable to what several competitors charge $60–108 a year for, and having checked those competitors, that's fair.
Stops at: unlimited store searches, sale forecasts and transfer-partner optimisation ($4.99/mo). iOS only; Android is a waitlist as of 2026-09-08.
Best free choice if you want to know which card to use and keep a list of what your cards owe you.
Travel Freely: fully free, one job
Sign-up bonuses, application timing, 5/24 tracking. No paid tier at all.
Stops at: it isn't a statement-credit tracker and has no best-card engine. It does its job completely and nothing else.
Best free choice if you open cards regularly.
AwardWallet: free loyalty ledger
Points and miles balances across airlines, hotels and bank programs, expiration reminders, travel plans. Web, iOS and Android. The free tier is genuinely usable.
Stops at: no best-card recommendations, no statement-credit tracking. AwardWallet
Plus is paid; published figures conflict ($30/yr and $50/yr from different sources) and
awardwallet.com/plus returned a 404 when we checked, so verify on their site.
Best free choice if your risk is expiring miles rather than expiring credits.
Kudos: free at online checkout
A Chrome extension that surfaces the best card at checkout, plus offer and cashback stacking. Core experience is free.
Stops at: no mobile app, so nothing in a store; no credit tracking; Chrome only.
Free tiers where the automation is paywalled
CardStack
The free tier lets you add cards and track credits manually, making it the cleanest free credit tracker here in the sense that it's aimed at exactly this job. What's paywalled is the part that makes it automatic: Plaid sync, automatic detection, the best-card engine, offer activation, widgets. CardStack+ is $12.99/mo or $89.99/yr after a 7-day trial. iOS only.
MaxRewards
Free tier exists and is usable. The headline feature (auto-activating Amex, Chase and Discover offers) requires Gold, reported at $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr. iOS and Android.
The "free tiers" that are really demos
Say this plainly, because both are marketed as free plans:
CardPointers' free tier is limited to one card of each type. If you hold an Amex Platinum and an Amex Gold, free CardPointers holds one of them. CardPointers+ is $90/yr.
WalletFlo's free tier is one linked card. Their pricing page describes it as the full experience limited to a single card. Pro is $100 the first year and $230/yr after.
Both are legitimate products. Neither free tier holds a real wallet, and anyone reading a page about tracking credit card perks has more than one card.
Free floors: OfferBee
Different shape, worth explaining precisely rather than claiming a free tier we don't have.
OfferBee has no permanently-free entry plan. It has a 14-day trial with no card required, and then Pro is $9.99/mo or $80/yr on offerbee.ai ($12.99/mo or $104.99/yr through the App Store; the app shows both and marks the cheaper).
What's free is the floor underneath a lapsed subscription: manual credit tracking on the cards already in your wallet stays available forever. Log a credit used, clear a period, backfill a month you forgot, snooze a reminder; all of it works with no subscription. Adding a new card needs Pro, so the free floor is "keep maintaining the wallet you have", not "build one from scratch".
The reasoning: billing gates the automated surfaces (Plaid sync, the best-card engine, the assistant), not the ledger you keep by hand. Stopping payment shouldn't cost you your history.
Compared to the others: CardStack's free tier is better if you're starting from zero, because you can add cards. OfferBee's floor is better if you've already built a wallet and want to stop paying without losing it.
Is a spreadsheet enough?
For a lot of people, honestly, yes, and no app on this page will tell you that, so we will.
A spreadsheet works when: you hold one or two cards, the credits are monthly and annual, and you already have a habit of opening the sheet.
It breaks when: cycles stop lining up. A premium wallet has monthly credits, quarterly credits, semi-annual credits, and annual credits that reset on your card anniversary rather than in January. Three cards produce a dozen reset dates on four different clocks. The failure isn't arithmetic, it's that nothing prompts you, so the sheet goes stale in March and you find out in December.
The honest test: open your issuer's app right now and check whether last month's credit posted. If you knew the answer, a spreadsheet is fine. If you had to look and the answer was no, that's the gap these apps fill. Paying $80–$90/yr against one missed $200 credit is not a close call.
If you'd rather start free: Pointer AI for the perks list, Travel Freely for bonuses, AwardWallet for balances. That's a $0 stack covering three of the four jobs. The one it can't cover is automatic confirmation that a credit was used, because that requires transaction access, and no free tier in this category grants it.
Verified 2026-09-08 against each company's live pricing page. MaxRewards and AwardWallet pricing could not be confirmed first-party. Re-checked quarterly.
Stop losing credits you already paid for.
OfferBee reads your card transactions, marks a statement credit used when the charge posts, and reminds you before it resets. 14 days free, no card required.
